You could be showing someone a screenshot or picture of interest of a topic, helping a member with a technical difficulty, or simply sharing photos to promote clubs, events, or even a glimpse of your UB life.
However, it is highly recommended that you do not use the Add Attachment button for putting your images in posts!
There is a limited overall file storage that the entire forum can sustain! Since it is a free-forum hosted by Proboards.
Here are 2 ways to insert your images without the need of uploading them here.
You may need to upload them elsewhere, though, and link back to show it here.
1. Copy Image Address
a) Search your image through Google and find the image you are looking for
b) Right click on the image and select "Copy Image Address"
*This just means that you have copied the url that directly takes you to the image that was uploaded on the Internet.
You can check for yourself.
c) As you are editing your text in the forum post, click the "Insert Image" button. This button can help you insert images through urls (links) of the image on the Internet.
Here it is!:
2. Use Imgur + Copy Image Address
a) Get an Imgur account. Imgur can hold uploaded images without their resolution/quality being reduced.
b) Upload an image
c) Each uploaded image has their own Image Address using the Imgur domain (it's a lot shorter!)
d) Copy and paste it after using the "Insert Image" button of the forum.

Unfortunately, be careful of using images from Photobucket or sites which may keep changing. This is because if they remove the specific image from the web and you had used their url/link to show the image here, it will not show anymore!
To make sure that your images /always/ show, use Imgur!

Do note that all images uploaded to Facebook have reduced quality.
Check for yourself!
Try to zoom in on your photo that you took from your camera/phone and zoom in on a same Facebook image that is saved to your computer.
You will see that the Facebook one is blurry!
(poor resolution/small size photo).
Facebook basically compresses all image uploads, so if you need to be showing details, especially if text is small or whatever, use Imgur!
